Beauty Hunter
The hunter
prowls, seeks,
because of hunger
left behind in soul
when profane shouts
vacuous holes inside victims
In ravenous rage
beauty seeks entrails
of evil, devours, spits
malice, malevolence
in abyss
Beauty hunter
hangs moments of grace
on mirrors, dotting time
with droplets of red
on faces of eternity
With exquisite touch
soft brush of finger
traces deep of sorrow
fills chasm abundant

smiles…i guess it is all in how we define beauty…it seems a never ending quest often filled with pain….those last two stanzas are top notch…and really like..Beauty hunter
hangs moments of grace
on mirrors, dotting time
with droplets of red
on faces of eternity
.
The quest for beauty… I think there is beauty all around us… and yes, filled with pain, I agree. Thank you so much for your kind comment!
Beauty in most things if we stome to look, all depends on the viewer, nicely done!
how many lives has it destroyed… nice write
Deep chasms in the human heart that hungers for truth and beauty. Keats says they are the same and I haven’t found out enough of life to refute him. Well done.
Truth and beauty… those are lovely thoughts to keep coming back to… thank you, Gay, I’m going to look for some Keats to read! 🙂
This is fantastic! Love the gory imagery…it becomes strangely poetic when dripping from your pen. The finish is brilliant!
Ha ha, thank you Natasha! I hadn’t intended to be gory, but I suppose it can be seen that way… 🙂
I think I am with Brian here–Loved this piece–especially the last two stanzas–
Beauty hunter
hangs moments of grace
on mirrors, dotting time
with droplets of red
on faces of eternity………….
Beautiful words here! Beautiful poem!
Wonderful, visceral write. I loved this.
Thank you!
Powerful… ‘hunger left behind in soul’ really speaks to me.
There is such an exposition of duality here – between beauty and ugliness, between tenderness and violence, between grace and malevolence – that the reader is moved to do a double-take, and read again.
Semaphore, so pleased you stopped by… thank you for your comment– your insight is helpful and appreciated!
hangs moments of grace
on mirrors, dotting time
with droplets of red
on faces of eternity….smiles…just seeing that i’m not the only one who fell in love with these lines… yep…let’s pack the bags and get on the trail, hunting for the beauty around us…
Joining you on the trail, Claudia….:)
Beauty and the slightly darker side of it – great poem!
Nice to meet you Eve, thank you for stopping by!
But does beauty ever sink into a ravenous rage? I would dispute that…
Hi friend… your comment makes me smile and makes me think… thank you for that… I was thinking that when Beauty (which I am equating with Love and Truth) overtakes evil, it is consumed by desire for Love and the eradication of the evil… in a so-called righteous type of anger…. if that makes any sense….
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I loved this:
when profane shouts
vacuous holes …
We are surrounded and constantly bombarded with the profane, to the point that we don’t notice either it or the damage it is doing to our being. As for Beauty sinking into ravenous rage – there is righteous anger as well as the unrighteous rage we too often fall prey to.
Yes indeed, Tony, agree with you about the kinds of anger and the need to guard oneself against the unrighteous rage. It’s scary to think of the desensitization to the profane around us… you are right we are bombarded and need to guard our minds and hearts. Thank you so much for sharing.
it’s a harsh world.
well penned!

very creative way of placing the words in this, found it to leave a compelling imagery and emotion. Lovely ~ Rose
This is your gate called Beautiful…there is beauty in pain.
Thrilling!
The thing I love most about this piece is the flow…the description is perfect but the flow keeps rolling, like a wave…beautiful!

This is truly beautiful. I loved your word choices that were so contrasting at times (entrails….grace). It provided for a startling, sorrowfully lovely poem…To me, that type of feeling is hard to evoke!! Brava.
