Flammable

Flammable

Approaching flames
warm the hands and
wake the mind

Sparks sear the heart,
ignite fiber of truth and
a thread of hunger burns

dust catches fire
blazes across centuries–
the line is traced

on hearts of men,
maps are colored in
and I know where

I belong. In red embers
where love transforms
the chaff of ash

I find myself, a fading
flower, a temporal vapor
with flammable soul.

Very nice and great imagery – I could see each verse. Loved the lines “dust catches fire
blazes across centuries the line is traced”. That gave me the feeling that life goes on maybe not in this world but it goes on. Not sure though if that’s what you meant. Dropping by from dVerse

the putting together of truth and hunger is really cool…and then how this spreads across the heart and time, consuming dust. it feels a bit like revival to me.

  3. For me, this conjures up a purifying wild fire, burning away all the dross, all illusions. Stunning.
